Some people I've talked to think Blood Furnace still has a chance to get better. Unless Blizzard allows free Alliance transfers to increase the population, that just won't happen.

I'd like to point out several reasons why Blood Furnace will continue to fail when WotLK arrives:

1. The Horde outnumber Alliance by more than 4:1, which will make questing in Northrend extremely difficult, and nearly impossible during primetime.

2. AH prices will continue to be overpriced with so few people on the server.

3. Getting groups will be even harder to find than now, as there is already a shortage of tanks and healers on Blood Furnace. The low population will make it hard for people who want to run normal instances to find groups, which will put the server behind the leveling, and ultimately progression, curve.

4. The recent succesful Mag/Gruul/Void Reaver Pugs have tricked people into thinking BF is getting better. The only reason those bosses have been downed is because so many people are overgeared for the encounter due to badge/ZA gear. And despite being over geared, the raids often wipe or barely hit the DPS mark.

When WotLK starts, the raiding community will face a massive lack of level 80s, as well as a huge gear disparity again. It took the server nearly two years and free T5+ (badge) gear to down Mag/Gruul with some degree of regularity. The server will be lucky to reach the same point in half that time when WotLK comes out.

Royal Council, Conceited and Save Lemont all have enough people who are wearing BT-level badge gear, yet no one has been able to down LV or Kael.

5. Only one person on BF has earned a Bear Mount. Even Conceited hasn't been able to put together a successful Bear Mount run with their best people. I don't see some magical improvement when WotLK comes out. In fact, it will be harder, not easier.
