Drysc talked today on the WoW forums about major changes to the Arena system in Season 4. Here are some of the highlights:

♦ Personal Rating requirements for all S4 items (except gloves and off-hand)
♦ S4 shoulders and weapon will require 2200 and 2050 personal rating, respectively
♦ Personal Rating requirement for S4 honor point Ring, Boots and Bracers
♦ Two major changes to point-earning calculations that should help prevent point-selling and rating boosting

Note also that Drysc listed "Trinket" under one of the "Season 4 quality items that will be purchasable with honor." Does that mean a new trinket is in the works? Or was it a typo? Better get to work on hitting the honor cap!

Happy to see they are working on making point selling very hard. It's a shame it hurts legitimate team-hopping to get points for the week or to play with friends though.

New rating reqs are kind of annoying, especially as a shaman. I'd really they make some cool tabards/mounts/titles for high ratings instead of limiting gear. Especially when it is weapons since those are often the largest upgrade for at least a few classes/specs.

this reminds me of the 2.4 changes to WSG. instead of addressing the core issues, they add layers of band-aids that create nearly as many problems as they fix.

so.. for honor gear, you need marks, and honor points, which can come from marks, and also personal rating, and team rating.... for arena gear you need arena points, and personal rating, and team rating, where arena points come from team rating, unless your personal rating is within 150 points, then they come from personal rating, and....

what a simple elegant and effective system!

oh well, i don't need no personal rating requirement in order to PWN NOOBS, at least not yet.
